Fear Not, Little Flock

A while back, before warningthepeople blocked me, he and I exchanged a few comments regarding the fear of the Lord on his video "Perfect Love STILL Fears God."  I want to explain it here, as people have addressed my comments on that video, but since I'm blocked I obviously can't publicly reply.

First, I want to read the comments warningthepeople and I exchanged.  I began as follows:

When we are dead in our sins, yes, we should fear the Lord and his wrath. We know we're not right with God and in danger of hell. But once we receive the new birth, we become his obedient children. We are his pride and joy, and he's our loving Papa! We fear him for OTHERS, but we no longer have to fear him for OURSELVES, because we know we're in right standing. I don't fear the Lord... I can't wait to get to him!
Jesus did not FEAR God; he IS God. He REVERED his Father.

This is warningthepeople's response:
You are greatly mistaken. We MUST fear God. The Son of Man feared God and He was perfect. Wake up and repent. No person without the fear of God will inherit eternal life.

And here is my reply:
No sir. SINNERS should fear God, not Saints.
"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have BOLDNESS in the day of judgment: because as HE is, SO ARE WE in this world.
There is NO FEAR in love; but perfect love CASTETH OUT FEAR: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is NOT made perfect in love." (1Jn 4:17-18)
"For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Rom 8:15)
Fear not, little flock.

When reading the Scriptures, we must rightly divide and read everything in its proper context.  It's especially important, because the original text may have many different words or definitions that are only rendered as ONE word in English.
For example, the word "fear" in both verses I quoted has the following definition:
  1. fear, dread, terror
    1. that which strikes terror
  2. reverence for one's husband
Which definition fits in the context of the verse?  Fear, dread, terror, that which strikes terror.  That is the fear which the sinners and disobedient should have, those who are in danger of judgement.  The born-again no longer live in terror and dread for themselves, because they have been made obedient children!  How can we have BOLDNESS in the day of judgement, if we're quaking in our boots before the Judge?  It's the equivalent of saying I should fear the police, when I know I'm a law-abiding citizen.

We Saints have Godly fear, which is awe, veneration, respect, honour, and reverence as to one's husband.  We're his bride!

Those who have not repented and are still dead in their sins SHOULD quake and tremble in fear before God.  And it's no surprise that the false so-called holiness preachers I see on here live in fear and anxiety, because despite their outward appearance, they're still full of sin.  To them, holiness is a decision they make on a daily basis, a mere check-list of obedience to be completed in fear of punishment.  They diminish Christ into nothing but a cheerleader in their own attempt at righteousness, wanting brownie points for "overcoming" the flesh instead of allowing Jesus to save them by removing that sinful nature.  They have not yet experienced God's grace, being born AGAIN unto a NEW creation where He dwells and works through them.  They are white-washed tombs full of dead men's bones, seeking recognition for their filthy rags.  They are not yet sons, and therefore they do not yet know or understand the love of the Father.

Some of you are SO CLOSE, so just go all the way once and for all.  Continuing to sin isn't working, and works salvation isn't working either!  So just enter in all the way, where there is no more fear or striving, and rest in the peace and love of the Father.

I think you are right about Boshoff and his self righteousness and arrogance. He has no logical response to logic and Biblical truth. bbail2x2@yahoo.com
